Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. Hello! It has been a very emotional past two weeks. Sadly the last couple of weeks have not been easy, we had a death in the family. My heart still breaks for my aunt and uncle as they lost their son and my cousins too, as they lost their little brother. I hope all the memories will bring them comfort and God will bring them the strength they need to carry on. For the first time I had to really explain death to the girls, and deal with all that comes with that process first hand. Just the other day I heard Caydence and Sadie talking about it and Cay said to Sadie, “Did you know after you die you either get a big box or you can be turned into lashes?” We tried the best we could to explain it to Caydence but she is just not really grasping it fully, which is okay because she is only 4. Caydence went to the funeral with the family as she didn’t have preschool that day and Sadie I let go to school because her poor little heart is just to emotional when it comes to death. The last time death came up was when Elsa and Ana’s parent’s died and she cried every night for a week thinking of all the people she could lose. Everyday since the funeral Caydence has told me that she misses her cousin. She asks to go visit my aunt and uncle (his parents) everyday, it’s so sweet, but I just don’t want her upsetting them or asking a million questions. She has met this side of my family every so often at a few birthdays, but we have only just started seeing them more often, now that we live in my hometown. This site was helpful for me.  death-quotes-photos-for-facebook-4-b1c16cf1
  2. I am a behind on giveaways, but I am trying my best to get caught up! And I will announce winner’s ASAP!
  3. I have an update on Rey and I. We are on really good terms right now, we have both been going to Church. I am convinced now that is what has been missing in our lives. We will soon be on the right path and I am so happy! The kids and I have finished another Lemony Snicket book over the phone and we hope to start the next one soon which reminds me I need to go to savers and find the next one best place to buy books on the cheap! We are going to meet up with Rey and the older kids for Thanksgiving. We are all so excited and can’t wait!

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

Have a great weekend!

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. Hello! Missed this post last week so thankfully I am catching up with it this week! The kids and I have been battling something the doctor suspects the baby has pertussis, whooping cough, and well he decided the girls just had a virus. I thankfully was able to see a doctor today and he started me on a Z-pack of antibiotics for my nasty throat infection and a really good cough medicine. Hopefully we will all be in good health soon.
  2. I have started some of the Holiday Gift Guide posts and should have a perfume and cologne post coming out today that you don’t want to miss! Three toy and game reviews and giveaways, plus a candy one.
  3. I shared a post from another blogger (http://ohhonestly.net/2014/11/06/not-mom-enough/) on Facebook that is exactly how I feel right now as a stepmother, but I fear this feeling is permanent. Since Rey and I have split it has been difficult to even just talk to them, they are so upset and they have every right to be. I have just abandoned them, walked away. It just hurts so much because they have been like my children for so long and now we just go on like nothing? This will not work for me, I care so much about them, but what can I do? They are not mine, I feel like I have no right to care about them or ask about them…it’s just so emotional. But being a stepmother for so long already…I guess I should be used to these feelings because well it’s just apart of being a stepmother.
  4. I have really been pushing my little businesses lately Chloe+Isabel jewelry and Scentsy for the Holidays so if you would like to browse and see what I have to offer for the holidays please do and if you message me on FB or email me at Mom254321@yahoo.com I will happily cover your shipping if you place an order over $50.  1904176_780526752468_3540222373373625153_n 10435523_780526717538_3322352769513819557_n 10449169_10204556888378097_905894816711175314_n 10629550_10101112333531921_6163193449922854584_n 10689767_10101125990198851_8051904824659669227_n NutcrackerCollections_Inspiration_Overview_WebCollections_Inspiration_Overviews_WebCollections_Inspiration_Overviews_Web2

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

Hello and happy Sunday to you! It has been a very busy week. but I wanted to catch up with you all. We had many new first this week with Girl Scouts, Church, and a Halloween Party. GirlsforHalloweenParty

  1. This week Sadie started girl scouts. She really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see how much she grows and learns from it. Sadie also had a music assembly were she performed songs she learned with her class in music class-it was so cute. I also had aparent teacher conference with her teacher and learned she is doing great, which makes me so very proud of her, considering all the things this girl has had to deal with lately.GirlScoutsSadieSinging
  2. Caydence has been doing homework for school and while she does complain about it she is enjoying it. They are really cute projects too! Last week we got to fill out a little poster all about her.
  3. Ezra has been well to put it as honestly as possible a fighter. He has so much anger and aggression in his little body.
  4. We went to Church on Wednesday night with my sister and the kids loved it! I really enjoyed it too. I am so happy that we are making changes for the better. Church is something I have been wanting to do for a while and I am happy to finally make this change for myself and my kids.
  5. Rey and I are still discussing things and slowly things falling into place the way they should.
  6. I also volunteered at an elementary book fair this week to help my Aunt out and found these cute books I wanted to share with you all. If you get a chance to stop by a book fair and make a purchase you will be helping the kids of that school get more books!-While adding to your collection!

My truths for today.

  1. Hello! It has been a very busy week! Well maybe very busy and a bit of procrastination this Thursday with Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to get Away with Murder on tonight. I have really been pushing my little businesses lately because I want to save up, go back to college, get a place of our own, and well Christmas is right around the corner, too. As some of you all may already know, I have been selling Chloe+Isabel jewelry and just recently started selling Scentsy. I love these two businesses! Jewelry and fashion have always been a favorite of mine and once I got caught up in the Mommy world I backed away, but Chloe+Isabel has really empowered me to hold myself higher and give myself more without excuses. Scentsy is a great business because well let’s face it nobody likes anything that stinks and Scentsy solves that problem-no smelly houses, cars, lockers, backpack, gym bags, or well anything really! What have you been up to?
  2. I am still working on my awesome holiday gift guide and a couple of reviews and a giveaways that will launch tonight or tomorrow! EEK! It will be a late one for me, but it’s worth it! Here is a a peek. Mom254321PerfectGiftGuide1
  3. Ezra, our baby, got his first hair cut this week and while it was a horrible experience for him he is so happy with it! Check out the Wordless Wednesday from this week to see the pics.
  4. Rey and I, while separated at this time are working hard to resolve our issues, neither one of us wants our family to be separated long-term, but right now it is what is best until we both can come to some peaceful arrangements. I hope we can look back at this now and see it was all part of the bigger picture. Relationships are hard and when you add in the blended or step part they only become more intense and complicated. Ending on a solid note we will all be visiting together on Saturday and the kids are thrilled to be able to see each other. (This video is so true and we have failed miserably at #1-it’s hard to get time alone because we live so far from family.)

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

Have a great weekend!

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. I have skipped out on this post for a few weeks now and well it maybe because I am running from the truth. The truth is our family is broken, we are going through the hardest part of our journey. Right now so many things are uncertain, but I can say I am starting over, I have moved back to my home town and surrounded myself with family and friends. I need to heal, I need to think about what I truly need to be happy-and not settle or believe a bad relationship is okay, but truly be happy, appreciated, and in an equally balanced relationship where respect is mutual. This is no doubt the hardest decision of my life and the most devastating to our children. I am trying to be as strong as I can for my little ones. Keeping busy and staying positive is what I must do.
  2. Sadie started her new kindergarten and loves it! So thankful this girl is so bright and has handled this so bravely. Caydence has started Preschool at Head Start and loves it! She walked in there on her first day like she has been there all school year-I love this kid! Oh and both girls needed a set of shots this past week and while Caydence handled them really well, Sadie had fever for two days and made it known to the whole office that she was getting shots. Ezra, my little Ezra well he has somehow taken this change the worst…my poor little man. I am hoping he comes around soon.
  3. I am working on so many things right now! I can’t wait to share all the upcoming giveaways with you. I am working on my Christmas Gift Guide and have some great sponsor lined up!

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

Have a great weekend!

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. First of all in remembrance of all the victims of 9/11 may you rest in peace and may your families continue to heal and grow in your legacy. To all the soldiers who have and continue to put your lives on the line for my families freedom, I want to say thank you for your sacrifice and for your families. Today I thought about the morning of Sept. 11th and all the emotions I felt that day as a 7th grader. Then I thought about when I heard President Bush say we will not let them get away with what they have done. The next memory I have is watching our armed forces bomb the terrorist and feeling like justice was served and it was over. I got back to my life, high school, college, and then raising my family. But now as an adult in reality it wasn’t over for all those families who lost someone on 9/11-they have had to live with the pain every single day since. It wasn’t over for all the men and women who vowed to fight to protect their country and sacrificed years of their lives or their lives to protect us. And it’s still not over and I can’t be certain it ever will be. Days like today make you remember you how precious life is and how many things you just can’t take for granted.
  2. I am solo this week with the kiddos as Rey is working out of town, and I apologize for the late night posts. Anyone’s partner work out of town regularly? How do you deal with being solo? I know I wouldn’t be able to without my crock-pot and late night silence. Reyrey'sFirstSack
  3. LittleManontheLoose A few awesome milestones and accomplishments this week! Reyrey had his first sack of the season this past Saturday-very proud moment as we all saw the biggest smile ever on his face! The little man can now open doors-great for him…trouble for me. Julie received all A’s and B’s on her report card on Friday-she is doing so awesome in school. Sadie has learned to count to 100 and did it officially for her teacher-she is so proud of herself as I am so proud of her! Caydence is really learning how the treat and chore jars work which is awesome because it is helping her see she can control her behavior and earn what she wants. What are you or your children’s milestones/accomplishments this week?

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

Have a great weekend!

My truths for today.

  1. Whew! What a week so far! With the holiday I was completely off, but finally it’s starting to slow down a little. This week I have been reflecting on my role as a mother in our family. I stumbled upon this as we talked to our oldest in the family about his role in the family. Rey used the idea of a team and compared that to how our family works I loved it-it just made so much sense because he is playing football. What is your role in your family?
  2. Tonight I put the kids to bed a little later than usual because I just couldn’t put down the book we were reading! Anyone else have this issue? The kids really didn’t want me to either. We are now on the 4th book in the Lemony Snicket, A Series of Unfortunate Events. What books are you or your kid(s) into right now?
  3. This week is parent-teacher conferences and I am meeting with all of the kid’s teachers tomorrow. I am hoping for some great ideas to help them more at home, and a better understanding of what they are doing in class. What do you go into parent-teacher conferences looking forward too?

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

Have a great Friday and an even better weekend!

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. This week has been a busy one! Dad is working out-of-town and that means I have a lot more to manage, but I have a little quiet time at night since Dad and I aren’t spending that time together. In that time I have been able to reflect on a few things I hope to talk more about in the coming weeks.
  2. I love what football is doing for our oldest so far. He is really learning to be part of a team-which is a great skill to learn early on. I also love that it is teaching him that exercise and fitness is important. I also love how his coaches are putting school first and using football as a motivator. All of his coaches are doing a great job and I couldn’t be more happier! Are your kids playing any sports or participating in any activities this year?
  3. Today I had the scare of my life! I know the nurse doesn’t mean to do this to me, but when she called she asked to talk with Sadie’s Mother or Father. Then she said Sadie had an incident in the cafeteria and she had choked on her lunch. My heart dropped-I am about to cry, I am looking for the keys to head down there. I think she can hear it in my voice when I ask if she is okay, because she quickly says she is fine now and is in her office. Sheesh…being a parent can really be an emotional roller coaster. I wish I could hug her! That’s why it’s so hard to let her go. I won’t always be there. I was able to talk to her and let her know I am sorry that happened and I am glad she is all better. She was a little shaken up still from what had happened, but she wanted to get back her class because they were in fine arts. What heart dropping moments will you never forget?
  4. I am really excited for fall! We have football games coming up, pumpkin and apple picking, Halloween, two kids birthday’s in Fall, and Thanksgiving! Just the though of Fall is so comforting and warming! What is your favorite thing about Fall?

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

It’s way past Thursday but I still wanted to share these thoughts with you all.

Have a great weekend!

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. After being a snot wiping, vomit catching, soup making Momma who eventually was so sick myself I passed out early Thursday night-I am finally able to write some posts. Just to give you an idea of how early, by the time Dad and the older kids arrived home from practice the whole house was asleep including me. This week has truly reminded me just how thankful I am for our health.
  2. As a parent we often have to do things that aren’t easy and one of those things is realizing that you may not have been doing as good in the parenting department as you thought. This week after a great two weeks into school I am emailed twice by a teacher and then get a handful of questionable papers. Just so you have an idea what I am talking about we were informed our student had hid homework in his desk, then we had a handful of low grades, and lastly just sloppy work, no name papers, and crumbled papers. I was shocked-two weeks in I thought I made my expectations clear on what was acceptable and what was going to have some consequences. Then I thought more…maybe I put too much pressure or maybe I have put too much on the kid’s plate with 3 practices and a game a week-in addition to school work. While the matter is still being discussed with the teacher, Dad and I do believe both the child and ourselves need to reorganize and find something that works for us all. One thing that we did let slip was T.V. They were watching it after they finished up homework-T.V. is now gone on Monday-Friday (with the exception of movie Friday). Another thing is that 6th grade is much more responsibility on the child’s part and we need to come up with great tools for this child to use to help him stay organized, neat, and on track. Anyone deal with this or have any great ideas on organization at school and tips with time management for kids?

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours!

It’s way past Thursday but I still wanted to share these thoughts with you all.

Where I will share my truths as a Mother & Stepmother.

My truths for today.

  1. This week has really been a great one! I am so thankful all the kids REALLY enjoy their classrooms! After all that worrying, they all love it and it’s such a relief!
  2. We are getting back to a normal routine and I am happy with that. It is a pretty busy one because Reyrey has practice three nights a week and soon in addition to that a game. They also run pretty late, but I guess that is normal. Anybody else’s kids in football? How often do they practice a week and how long?
  3. We did have one incident this week. The nurse called home and asked if I could please bring Sadie another shirt to school because she had an accident on the playground. She explain that when Sadie left the swings she mistakenly walked in front of the swing next to her and was kicked in the face. 😦 She was bleeding, but they were able to get the bleeding to stop and she was ready to head back to class, but she wanted a new shirt. I was worried this might have ruined her day but she was happy as could be when she got off the bus!
  4. Caydence’s Frozen party is right around the corner and I can’t wait to share all about it! Plus I will be sharing more of our First Family Vacation this week.

These are my truths of the week, I hope you share yours.

Happy Thursday, and thanks for stopping by!
